A new, Sussex walks festival offering personal challenges, new perspectives, fun, quirky and special interest walks to suit all tastes and fitness levels. Over 50 walks have been submitted taking place during the nine days of the festival, many free of charge.

The Festival Walks programme will be published in mid July. For updates visit:

The walks vary from a three-night hiking holiday, a photographic walk with opportunities to edit the photos, a literary walk with connections to Arthur Conan Doyle in Crowborough and learning to use Nordic walking techniques.

Daniel Neilson an editor at The Great Outdoors will also be leading a walk on Sep 27.

The walks will cover the varied landscapes of the Sussex coast, Downland villages, Wealden views and ancient woodlands in the North of the area. The walks vary in length and effort – and some link in with local refreshment opportunities!
