There’s a clear reason why
Tenerife Bluetrail is one of the world’s greatest trail races: it’s
tough. Really tough. The 93-kilometre Ultratrail reaches an altitude of some 3,000 metres.
There are two shorter trails and also a 10-kilometre race for those with reduced mobility. But the flagship Bluetrail is only one of dozens of events including triathlons, duathlons, marathons and other runs. Even if you’re not competing, there are few more beautiful running trails than those in Tenerife.
The Tenerife Bluetrail is one of the world’s great mountain running events. It is held every October and goes from sea level to 3,565 metres over 94km. The Trail category is 60km and the half-trail is 24km. There’s also an adapted trail for athletes with limited mobility.
Teide Xtreme Triathlon
This October triathlon includes a 1.9km swim, followed by a 96km cycle through the craters of Mount Teide climbing to 2,200m followed by a 21km run.
